About this Event

Manufacturing is a major contributor to the UK and world economy and is crucially important sector in terms of sustainability and environment and also as demonstrated recently with the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit events.

UK Manufacturing delivers £191 billion of output, and the goods produced account for 53% of the UK’s total exports – an increase from 44% last year. UK manufacturing supports 2.7 million jobs and we remain in 9th place in the world manufacturing table, which may come as a surprise to some who don’t realise that Britain is still very much a major global player when it comes to manufacturing.

Manufacturing has changed and evolved over the recent years with the developments in engineering and technology as well as changing geopolitical, economic as well as environmental factors.
