UK Manufacturing delivers £191 billion of output, and the goods produced account for 53% of the UK’s total exports – an increase from 44% last year. UK manufacturing supports 2.7 million jobs and we remain in 9th place in the world manufacturing table, which may come as a surprise to some who don’t realise that Britain is still very much a major global player when it comes to manufacturing.

Manufacturing has changed and evolved over the recent years with the developments in engineering and technology as well as changing geopolitical, economic as well as environmental factors. The speaker:

Halil Bedevi MSc, CEng, FMM, MIET is a chartered engineer with over 30 years’ experience in manufacturing industry across numerous sub-sectors. Currently, he is the Head of Aerospace, Defence, Rail & Advanced Manufacturing within Santander Corporate & Commercial. Halil is also a manufacturing awards judge and a member of the industrial advisory board and a visiting fellow at Cranfield University.
