Extension of scope and successful recertification for Midland Medical Services

Temple QMS has been delighted to work with Midland Medical Services, supporting its recertification of ISO 9001:2015 and change of scope for the provision and use of training facilities in the use of medical gases. 

Midland Medical Services, based in Tipton is one of the market leaders in medical gas systems, laboratory gas systems, and other gas systems such as those used by the dental and veterinary industries.

The change of scope to the provision and use of training facilities in the use of Medical gases. Temple QMS supported the business in its Scope extension to deliver training of installation and users to Industry Standard HTM 02 (Health Technical Memoranda) ensuring that the criteria is up to date using critical latest industry guidelines.

HTMs give comprehensive advice and guidance on the design, installation and operation of specialised building and engineering technology used in the delivery of healthcare. The focus of HTM guidance remains on healthcare specific elements of standards, policies and up-to-date established standards of best practice. They are applicable to newly constructed and existing sites, and are for use at various stages during the whole building life cycle:

The Scope Extension allows courses to be accredited by EAL (Excellence, Achievement & Learning), The Specialist Awarding Organisation for Engineering and Manufacturing.

The training facilities at Midland Medical Services are purpose-built to deliver a range of courses for professionals who use medical gas systems. The company used its experience, skill and knowledge of the medical gas industry to design and build an extensive training site that delivers practical, hands-on training, and the opportunity to learn across a range of different types of equipment.

The entire operation was demonstrated, including the management system, and operational controls including ISO 9001 mandatory elements, tour of the operation, training provision, marketing activities, enquiry, quote, sales, booking and post course feedback.
