ISO 14001:2026 Foundation Course (1 Day)

The ISO 14000 standards are designed to create a framework to help all kinds of companies and organisations who seek to manage their environmental responsibilities.

A first-principles introduction to Environmental Management Systems, designed for anyone new to ISO 14001 — no prior knowledge required.

This course covers the fundamentals of good environmental management, the Harmonised Structure shared across ISO management standards, and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle that underpins how an Environmental Management System (EMS) works. Delegates then work clause by clause through ISO 14001:2026 itself, from understanding organisational context and leadership, through risk-based thinking, planning, support, and operation, to performance evaluation and continual improvement.

By the end of the course, delegates will have a clear, practical understanding of what ISO 14001:2026 requires and how an effective EMS is built and maintained — finishing with a short quiz to check their understanding.

ISO 14001 can be applied to any sized organisation that wishes to establish, implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system and can reduce significant business costs. Manage your environmental risks with a standards-based approach.

Successfully completing this CQI and IRCA Certified ISO 14001:2026 Foundation (EMS) Training course does not satisfy the training requirement to become an IRCA-certified auditor. For the full training and general requirements, please refer to quality.org/IRCA-grades.
